One of my favourite things about the Super Bowl is seeing just how crazy of prop bets are offered by the online sportsbooks. This year, Bovada.lv took their crazy prop bet game to another level. I’ve waded through all of the prop bets available at Bovada over the past hour and have come up with my 10 favorite novelty prop bets for this years Super Bowl.

#10 – Which song will Coldplay play first during the Halftime show?

I found it funny when Demaryius Thomas didn’t even know who Coldplay was when asked. For such a monumental Super Bowl, it’s definitely a weird choice. For those of you who aren’t big Coldplay fans I did a bit of research. There more recent big hit is Adventure of a Lifetime, which is the favourite to play first. Paradise at +1000 is their last number one hit though, so that could be a solid choice.
#9 – Will the Panthers player who scores their first touchdown give the ball to a Boy or Girl?

Kids in Carolina have been given a ton of footballs throughout these playoffs with the Panthers seeming to score TD’s at will. Now it’s some kids in San Francisco’s turn. I think the smart money has to be on a boy here just based on the fact there has to be more boys in the stands than girls. I would assume anyways.

The Peyton Manning trend with these props begins with how many times his father will be shown. You can be sure that the announcers will be gushing over Peyton a lot during this game and after talking about his career cutting to his father in the stands seems like an obvious move.
#7 – Will Peyton Manning by seen crying at any point during the entire Broadcast?

Peyton doesn’t seem like much of a crier, but if he wins the Super Bowl and retires, those are a couple monumental career achievements that could potentially bring anyone to tears.
#6 – Will Peyton Manning announce his retirement in the post game interview?

Announcing his retirement does seem more likely than tears.
#5 – How many million viewers will Super Bowl 50 have?
- Over 117 million -120
- Under 117 million -120
The 2015 Super Bowl had 114.4 million viewers and that was the most watched Super Bowl in history. Super Bowl 50 is a monumental anniversary and we do have a great story line with Peyton Manning vs Cam Newton, but a bump up to 117 million would definitely be significant.
#4 – How many wings will Buffalo Wild Wings sell on Super Bowl Sunday?

Last year over 11 million chicken wings were sold by Buffalo Wild Wings for the big game. A one million bump would be massive, but it’s definitely doable considering the press that the wild wing giant got for last years sales.
#3 – How many times will “dab” or “dabbing” be said by the announcers during the Broadcast?

“Dabbing” took the NFL by storm this season, but I still find it hilarious when an old announcer talks about it. That said the old guys seem to love trying to look hip and enjoy drawing attention to the dab. If Cam gets into the end zone and dabs I think this is an easy over.
#2 – What color will the liquid be that is poured on the winning coach?
- Orange +125

I’m surprised that the Orange is such a big favourite. If I’m a coach I tell my players before the game that they have to grab the Water bucket so I’m not sticky for all the celebrations. I would want to enjoy it and not feel like I need a shower.

I always like this prop bet from year to year. It’s a great way to have a ton of interest even after the game is over. Who will the MVP thank first? I think god is a great bet, but thanking the coach at +750 odds could be good value as well.
