My Pick
The 30-year-old Osaze climbs into the ring with a record of 13-2 with 3 Ko’s and has boxed just 61 rounds since making his pro debut in 2017. Unfortunately there’s no height and reach information on Osaze so we don’t know how he stacks up size-wise against Liddard. We do know he lacks power though as just 23.1 per cent of his victories have come by stoppage but he has halted two of his last six opponents though.
Osaze’s first pro loss came at the hands of Tyler Denny on points over 10 rounds in 2021 after Osaze had a point deducted for a low blow in the final round. He took a step up in class against Denzel Benzley the last time out and it was too big of a jump as just six of Osaze’s previous 14 opponents entered the ring with a winning record. His biggest victories have been against the likes of Joel Julio, Liam Hunt, Grant Dennis, Kieron Conway and Tey Lynn Jones.
Liddard is just 22 years of age and carries around a perfect record of 10-0 with 6 Ko’s. He made his pro debut in November, 2022 and has just 37 rounds of experience under his belt. He enjoyed a fine amateur career and made it to the semifinals of the 2021 England Boxing National Amateur Championships and fought at the England Boxing National Youth Championships in 2020.
Liddard stands 5-feet-10-inches tall and has enough power to cause some damage as his current knockout ratio clocks in at 60 per cent. He’s slowly climbing the domestic rankings and although he hasn’t taken on any notable opposition as of yet, eight of his 10 opponents entered the ring with a winning record.
Prediction…
Liddard and Osaze are currently at the domestic and European level rather than the world stage but there’s a chance that Liddard makes it there in a few years time. He definitely has the edge in power here and he’s eight years younger, but needs to make sure he doesn’t take Osaze too lightly. This is a good test for Liddard and it’s one that he should end up passing.
