- Osleys Iglesias -1500
My Pick
The 26-year-old southpaw Iglesias fights out of Berlin, Germany and makes the ring walk with a perfect mark of 12-0 with 11 Ko’s and has just 38 rounds of experience under his belt since turning pro in 2019. Before that he enjoyed an extensive amateur career and won a silver medal at four straight Cuban National Championships from 2015 to 2018. He also participated in the World Series of Boxing in 2017.
It’s obvious that Iglesias has excellent power in his punches as he boasts a current knockout ratio of 91.7 per cent and has gone the distance just once as a pro when Isaac Chilemba took him 12 rounds in May 2022 when Iglesias captured the vacant IBO International Super Middleweight Belt. In his previous bout four months earlier, Iglesias won the vacant IBO World Youth Super Middleweight Crown by stopping Robert Racz in just 145 seconds.
Iglesias has good size for the 168 lb division as he stands just over 6-feet-2-inches but unfortunately has an unlisted reach. Like most elite Cuban boxers, he possesses polished skills to go along with his tremendous power. He also has wins over Marcelo Coceres, Arthur Reis, Andrii Velikovskyi, Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna and Rafael Sosa Pintos. Iglesias has a fan-friendly style with six first-round knockouts and has recorded three in the second round and was recently ranked fifth in his division by the WBC and 10th by the IBF.
As for Ivanov, he’s 28 years old and also fights out of Germany. He enters the contest with a near-perfect mark of 18-0-2 with 13 Ko’s and has boxed 100 rounds since making his pro debut in 2014 following his amateur career. He measures 5-feet-11-inches tall with a 71-inch wingspan so is 3.5-inches shorter than Iglesias. Ivanov also has better-than-average power as 72.2 per cent of his wins have come by stoppage, including his past six in a row.
Ivanov’s first draw was an eight-round affair with Ramil Gadzhyiev in 2016 and he also drew over eight rounds with Igor Kudrytskyi in 2018. Ivanov captured the vacant WBC Youth Super Middleweight Belt in 2018 with a ninth-round TKO over Louis Toutin. He defended it once and then won the vacant WBC International Super Middleweight Crown by stopping Yusuf Kanguel in the fourth round. The next belt added to his collection was the vacant IBF International version by halting Robert Talarek in the fourth stanza.
Prediction…
Both boxers have good power and Ivanov will need it to keep the aggressive Iglesias off of him. Ivanov has never fought outside of Europe as a pro and hasn’t faced any legitimate top-10 contenders. This is an interesting matchup between two good young prospects but I definitely give the edge to Iglesias unless he turns out to have a porcelain chin. We don’t really know yet as he’s ended most of his fights before his opponents have had the chance to hit him. The odds are overwhelming for Iglesias and he should end this contest with a stoppage.
Iglesias should be too aggressive and powerful for Ivanov.

I would also make the assumption that Osleys Iglesias will Win and defeat Petrol Ivanov by Stoppage Victory, but I personally think that the Ukrainian, also based in Germany, will give the skilled Cuban a tough outing, as he his rugged, defensively savvy and will be looking to take the Cuban deeper than his recent victories have allowed him to go… I predict that Iglesias will Win by Stoppage somewhere between Rounds 7 – 9, but it won’t be an easy outing and it will definitely be a learning bout for the highly skilled and hard punching Cuban Super Middleweight IBO Champion ??????
It seemed to be a bit of a premature stoppage to be honest Jay
